You know, I thought that a crises would encourage more people into politics, but as far as I can see, IT DID ANYTHING BUT THAT. The adults I know(well, the ones over 30, that is) STILL would not consider voting for anyone else, for reasons such as "What's the point in voting for anyone else? They'll never get into power", etc. That sort of thing is a self-fulfilling prophecy: OF COURSE if you don't vote for anyone other than FF/FG, no one else will get into power! Isn't this kinda MEANT to be the point of democracy? That we can replace the eejits in power with people that can do something? But so far, unless you count the electoral union between a few tiny socialist parties(AKA, The ULA), THERE HAS BEING NO NEW PARTIES! Even though we complain constantly about those in power, even though a lot of people feel that none of the parties support their views, there still have being no new political parties. I mean, What's the point of democracy here, if we aren't going to try and get change when we want it?
