Will the Government las until 2016 ?

In my opinion they wont, the labour backbenchers are too left wing to face up to reality and will force gilmore to withdraw from government. I think this could leave Fine Gael with a great chance to win a majority to continue in the country's interest. Any thoughts ?

Well, it won't be Fine Gael running away from it. Personally, I can't see it lasting. Labour won't have the guts to stick it out. Fine Gael will then campaign, with some justification, that they are the only credible party able to take the hard decisions, whether you like them or not.

What real difference will it make to your life if after 2014, ff replace labour, or FG win an overall majority or sf/ff coalition takes over? There will be no systemic change to Irish and European politics or economics.

I reckon they will get through this budget, just about. Depending what happens internationally, and if austerity keeps going after the poor and middle ireland, they wont make it through next years. An awful lot people are pissed off with them already...a lot of the same people who voted for them. People who believed the lies

If you mean 16 minutes past 8 tomorrow evening, then the answer is probably yes,

If you mean a date five years from now, you must be having a giraffe!

The mods are illiterates or libertarians - either way they don't proactively amend thread titles despite it making the site look very amateur.

    I would agree with this.
Electorates generally dont reward parties who dont accept their mandates.
If Labour do an early runner, they will suffer.

Anyway, they waited 13 years to get into government!!

You have got to be joking.
And who are these labour backbenchers who could be classed as 'left-wing'?

There is nothing to replace them at present or in the next few years
