The Greens have sold out just like Sinn Fein

The Green Party have sold out their principles to get into power with Fianna Fail just like Sinn Fein did to get into power with the DUP.

The fact is the unique form of power sharing evident in the six counties was necessary to overcome decades of discrimination and introduce unionists to the idea of democracy. How is that comparable to the actions of the Greens.

Do you honestly see the current coalition lasting full term.

Kinda hard not to see it lasting a full term. The Greens have the opportunity to effect some real change upon Ireland. They'll want to show that they are a party capable of government and aren't gonna jump too quickly especially as they know it won't cause an election. The PDs need time to rebuild and independents never like elections.

from a FG perspective i have to ask:-

    a) is power worth it at any cost ?
    b) how do you think the FG voters would have reacted to same?

I also do not understand the comparison between the Greens and SF.

However, in my country in Finland the Greens became a laughing stock as they abandoned all their principles in exchange of being allowed into the government. The government is going to build new nuclear-reactors, something completely against the Green-ideology, but the Greens just said ok. The government is going to harness some northern rivers for energy-production purposes, another thing which the Greens fiercely opose, but this time around no problem as long as the Greens are allowed to be in the government.

In fact, there is a joke here in Finland that they could build the new nuclear-reactor in the Green-party leader`s backyard and it would not matter as long as the Greens could be members of the government.
