    Ivana Bacik

I see from Q&A tonight that the 'delicate beauty' Bacik has crawled out from her rooms in TCD again. Must be an election campaign soon? Wonder which constituency she'll get shoe horned into? Doubt it will be in Kerry! Dún Laoghaire could be likely tho'.....

Is a Reid professor actually supposed to do anything for their salary?

Teach law, I imagine. That's what professors of law generally do.

Are you suggesting that she's somehow failing in this?

    I wouldn't vote for her.

But she's entitled to express an opinion same as anyone else.

This is what we call democracy.
We can turn the world around
We can turn the earth's revolution
    We have the power
    People have the power ...

Well no more than plenty of other academics. Are you saying that she isn't fulfilling her obligations to the college that employs her?

Not sure what you are basing that generalisation on, maybe you know a different class of academic to me.

Have you seen her contract? Maybe the position entails no actual work, and is just a vehicle to fund a socialist feminist political 'career'. What would her obligations be as you see them? As a Reid Professor of Law, would political objectivity be required?

Less of the 'Elite' there boyo, that is more descriptive of me

No conspiracy, just poorly disquised communists trying to reinvent themselves, desperately grabbing at anything to give them a purpose [Iraq, M3, bin charges, globalisation, multiculturalism, 3rd world debt, blah blah bleugh].

Nothing will motivate the lazy / apathetic / Americanised / west-British types to embrace their culture and the Irish language.

So did anybody who ever tried to get themselves elected, for Jebus' sake. Why single out Bacik?
