    What's the deal with Uni graduates being able to elect senate members while the plebs aren't allowed to?

    Why hasn't that blatant class discrimination been scrapped...

    nothing wrong with being against the system, but using it so u can get in and try to change it... real politics

    Because university graduates are not a class? Free education, and all that.

    It makes sense that the best educated individuals in a society have influence over representation in the Upper House of a Parliament, and allocating seats for the NUI and University of Dublin is a very efficient method of doing so.

    Yes but if this discrimination is to continue surely all graduates should be treated equally - it should be converted into one 6 seater that all graduates including those from UL, CIT, DIT, DCU etc. have a vote the current system is extremely flayed in the Ireland of today.
