24 Candidates for the NUI Seanad Elections

We have 24 candidates for this years NUI Seanad election.

Registered mail ballot papers go out on the 19th of June. This is the highest number of candidates in years. It should be an interesting contest.

    Martin,

Are you a Green endorsed candidate? If not, why do you use their logo??

Martin Hogan is running as an Independent candidate endorsed by the Green Party, as is David Hutchinson-Edgar for TCD.

Ok so he is endorsed? But why is he using their logo.. Seems like way more than an endorsement

Yes, he is endorsed. I imagine he is using the logo because he is a Green Party member and a Green-endorsed candidate for the Seanad. QED.

Are other candidates being backed by political parties?

Don't know anything about seanad elections although I think I have a vote (have to check at old address).

Will there be party logos on the ballot papers?

If they are official party candidates then it will say it, but only two people are to my knowledge. John Kennedy for YFG and Brendan Ryan for Labour.

Of the others, Liam Crowley is a member of FF and the Bull's director of elections as far as I'm aware and myself - I'm a member of FG but I'm doing a solo run initially intended to highlight the failure to extend the franchise to us knuckle draggers outside the NUI and TCD, but now also to highlight the imposition of charges on disabled adults attempting to live independently.
Dan Sullivan. I was back but we still couldn't all have a vote.
