Thanks to everyone who participated in Politics.ie over the past four and a half years, and of course in particular the general election campaign.
It's been a pretty busy time for me over the past few weeks in particular, taking last week off from the day job to work on Politics.ie and of course election day itself.
Over the past few years Politics.ie has broken some great stories (and polls of course!) first, we've been quoted a huge number of times in the press (it already seemed at one point that a journalist was providing copy to his editor by just copy and pasting Politics.ie!).
The Twitter service was great for us I feel, we'd an amazing response to it - and I'll be looking at how we can incorporate that service into Politics.ie in future.
So, if you'd like to thank Politics.ie, please feel free to say a few nice words, tell your friends about the website, but most importantly, thank us with cash.
Politics.ie is nominating Barretstown. Barretstown is a specially-designed camp for children with serious illnesses - primarily cancer and serious blood diseases - from Ireland, Britain and throughout Europe, and their families.
On my part, I'll be making a donation to them over the coming days, a proportion from the fees I've earned from media work (radio, print and online) over the past couple of weeks. So, I'd like to suggest people consider making a donation (of whatever size) to Barretstown. You can use the paypal button on the Politics.ie Homepage to donate to the Politics.ie Barretstown Fund - or you can make your own arrangements.
