Kenny to approach Mary Harney to join new rainbow government

On the back of a surge of popular support that increased Dail representation by over 60%, Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny will try to put together the next government.

He has said that he will approach Mary Harney on the possibility of the PDs joining Fine Gael, Labour, and the Greens in government.

And if McDowell hadn't decided that the only way to get people to vote for us was to send around cartoons saying that Labour and the Greens wanted only to bring Ireland back to the Great Famine, maybe that could actually work.

    Sigh.

    Any what about independents?

    It's a possibility.

Enda kenny has a duty to all those people who voted for change to do what he can to form a government.

FG, Labour Greens, PD's and....? Who else???

As much as I would love to see Kenny leading the next government, that sort of coalition will not be viable nor will it be ultimately re-endorsed.
After all that he has put into the campaign, I imagine it is hard for him to let go of the prospect of victory, but there are a lot of FGers raising eyebrows at how tenaciously Enda is hanging onto the idea.

He needs to put the calculator down...

Why not approach the Shinners and Jackie Healy-Ray while he's at it?

"I'll tell you now, as sure as I'm wearing a tartan cap, there is no way in the wide earthly world that I would vote for a Fine Gael Taoiseach!"
