    Any Chance of this Gov?

Fg 51 + Lab 20 + Green 6 + PD 2 + Michael Lowry, Finian Mc Grath, Tony Gregory, Bev flynn.

    All equal 83.

what if FG and PD merge?

I think the sh1t coming down the track needs a strong stable govt and FG will do themselves no favours with this type of set-up

No. Beverley Flynn should be counting coins of low value in the back room of a bank in Castlebar, not partnering Fine Gael in Government. I wouldn't be too comfortable with welcoming Lowry back to the fold either.
It's interesting how, for all the certainty since Friday morning, how close the election actually came.

Is there any chance of another election at this stage?
Is there not a possibility that when Bertie is put up for taoiseach, there will be 83 votes to stop him - ie FG 51 + LAB 20 + GRN 6 + SF 5 + Lowry. What would happen then? I mean, I think each of the parties involved would be more than happy to have another election - or would they?
I can't see a downside for SF, GRN or Lab, nor even FG for that matter, as they could now point to the fact that they're a credible alternative.
Or am I talking complete rubbish?

Too many people pulling in different directions. FG for instance have a credible transport policy whereas Greens want no more roads, in case the natural habit of the lesser spotted hedge toad is disturbed (or so I believe).

Kenny has done wonders for his party and FG would be better served on the opposition benches and hopefully building on this solid foundation rather than going into govt in a time of economic uncertainty with a disparate group of socialists, tree huggers and dodgy indos.

What FG need to do now is raise the profile of some of their brighter, younger tds so that come the next election, Richard Bruton will not have to be the FG spokesperson on everything.

They want less more roads not no more roads.

This is the option that Enda Kenny is pursuing.

We'll know more in a couple of days if he will be able to put it together.

I think that would be a wonderful outcome but highly unlikely

Fianna Fail have been spinning well today about stable Government. On one hand they say stable Government is between two mutual parties, and on the other they say the 97-02 arrangement is stability. Which one is it?

They're spinning like mad because technically Enda Kenny can still be elected Taoiseach. (Fine Gael - Labour - Green - Mary Harney + Noel Grealish + Finian McGrath + Tony Gregory + Michael Lowry + Bev Flynn).

    A couple of points:

The 97-02 arranegment was supported by gene pool only indos. There's only two of them left, one of which (Bev Flynn) said she would not prevent Enda Kenny being elected Taoiseach.

Would Tony Gregory + Finian McGrath support a FF/PD Gov?

A couple of analysts on RTE said that Fianna Fail justs has to sit back and wait for the Greens and Labour to call.

But what if neither Bertie nor Enda get a majority when the big vote comes?
