    Overtime and Over Budget

I thought FG were weak on selling some of these issues. Sometimes they mentioned the project but never gave actual figures which have more of an impact on the listeners ear. For example the Port Tunnel apparently ran over budget by €600 million. Phenominal sum. Can any one post the details of the most expensive projects which overan both time and budget by giving details on how long and by how much. e.g Port Tunnel, Luas etc.?

www.17billion.com is a very good indicator of government waste since 1997, 17 billion is a hint to how much they have wasted.
By 2020, 12.75Lts of petrol will cost you just under €30, today it will cost you €16.42 exactly.

Leaving out the 'Anyone But Fianna Fail' bit wouldn't that have made a very powerful part of the FG PPB?

isnt it interesting in the light of these overruns and wastage to hear Bertie telling us about the shortcomings in the FF-LAB spending plans---think his memory may be deserting him

That's my very point. When Cowen and Ahern are attacking fiscal proposals it makes the most devestating riposte. But I haven't heard itdelivered in any cohesive or continous way. If Kenny was to deliver the list on the head to head it would have certainly ranked as a standing count punch.

Agreed, but their ability to get their message across has been lacking. The communication started great, the contract, the simple messages ... but then they get into a dogfight and loose. As I have said on other threads FG will have to show the same level of "on-message" talking points as New Labour in 1997.

Stick to your message. Anything else will not work.
