    Farming Influence in The Dail

It would appear that the Dail has not much influence on Farming issues with all the legislation directed from Brussels. Is it time to change this to Minister for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (like our UK Counterparts) and free up a ministery for better use

I notice that very few of the Candidates are pushing farming issues - Is this a sign that the no one listens to the poor farmers whose incomes have changes very little over the last 20 years (they must have been making a fortune back then)

Saw figures recently, can't remember where, that said that farmers now account for just 5 % of workforce. Big change in 30 years.
