Can FG play the vote Bertie, get Cowen card now?

It's looking increasingly likely that Bertie Ahern won't last long after the election as leader of FF.

Hopefully they'll play the FF in chaos. FF-PD in choas..only viable coherant option is the FG-LAB-GR option. Which is 100% accurate.

Even FF posters here will admit that this is now the reality

    A vote for Bertie's team isn't actually a vote for Bertie's team!

oh they definatly should firstly because Ahern is dead in the water just like the govt. and people have not had any time to warm to the fact that cowen could be taoiseach and he has not been seen in that light by the public.

Its almost a given at this stage that either before or soon after the election, Bertie is a gonner. I think its unlikely he will go before as the 'Bertie Factor' is a big vote puller for FF.

I doubt if people are aware that they are very likely, and inadvertingly, voting for Cowen for Taoiseach, and I really dont think he would have the same appeal for the electorate.

Are FF actually perpetrating the biggest election con of them all here??

the only way to play this would be asking if we vote for FF now, who will be the taoiseach if FF lead the government.

If the PDs don't pull out though, they clearly don't think the revelations are serious enough and thus Bertie may well be Taoiseach after the election (provided the votes suit). We'll see what McDowell's exact comment is though.

All the reports so far are indicating a split in the PD's. Parlon et al wanted to stay. O'Donnell and a few others wanted to pull. McD is not too blame for everything you know............
