    Reckless election policies

Considering that the economy is slowing down, with knock on effects in terms of tax revenue and social spending, is it not reckless of nearly all the parties to be promising tax cuts and spending increases (incl Stamp Duty reform) on such a grandiose scale?

Personally, I'd be more willing to vote for a party that was willing to put a few quid aside for the coming rainy day, rather than slash welfare spending or increase taxes or borrow during the recession.

    Rainy days

I was beleive similar thing to Shepard, and this is why I am voting for the govt. they have promised to pay off the national debt. and reduce taxes. Also consider their record. In 2001 we were talking about the same things economic wise as we are now. It passed. and not by accident.
Considering the ideological differences of the rainbow I would stick with the devil I know.

Our national debt has never been lower and going forward it will be crucial that we free oursleves from debt as much as possible. The world economy is headed into tough times and it will be very important to help keep ourselves as flexible as possible.

and thats why Mc Dowell is acting like a complete idiot in relation to Stamp Duty ?

What in the name of God was he doing playing my mickey is bigger than yours with FG and Labour over Stamp Duty, and offering to address it next week in the Dail ?

Methinks the only reason for it, is to engineer some split with FF, and walk away, before attempting to fool the people that he walked out of Government over some matter of principle.

That the Labour Party is part of this nonsense beggers belief
