    FF/GRN/SF Government

Still too early to call but with consit. polls around country predicting gains for both SF and Grns, is there a possibility that FF/GRN/SF form the next Government and if so which would be the second biggest party and who would be Tanaiste. If i was calling it I would say FF - 67, Grns - 10 and SF 8. Would Trevor revert his decision and becom Tanaiste and Minister for Environment.

No real possibility of this happening IMO. FF will return with the PDs as their first choice if they can - if LP/FG/GP don't get the numbers then LP will change their attitude and go into gov with FF as long as Labour are an option for FF they don't need to look elsewhere.

How many times do we need to say it? We wont be going into government with SF!!!

I think that a likely scenario would be FF/ Greens/ PD.

Fianna Fáil can be the bread, PD's the meath and the Greens the Lettuce!!!

Must agree with Engels and disagree with Jayblue here.
    It simply won't be happening.

Dunny why would FF not go in with SF?

    The 2 republican parties.
After recent events in Stormont, what is unacceptable about SF?
Are FF in the same camp as Jim Allister now?

Deny it all you like, the voting public assume you will do it if you need to and will vote accordingly. So why bother denying what no-one believes?

Practically suitable for even the strictest vegetarians then, as by the next elections, the PDs are probably going to reduced to next to nothing.

Dunny, I think the lectures about FF will not enter auction politics and did a uturn, put the whole no going into government with SF as a another little speech which will be changed if the thoughts occur. The question is in FF drop below 65 will labour hold there own, in order to enable them to make a FF/LAB. FF loss now look to be going to SF/Grn, and the pd's seating going to FG and then FG and Labour interchanging, we could possible have that the only gains after this election are SF and Grns. Interesting days ahead

Why? Becuase we disagree fundamentaly on Economics and on many other things. With regard to the DUP doing a deal with SF: they HAVE to, its called power sharing. In the south, we have a free democracy where there are no set arrangements that must be kept.

I dont think it was a U turn, I think that Bertie kept it quiet in order to maximise the impact of it. Bertie is the leader, he decides on what is policy etc (in conjunction with others).

Jayblue you are contradicting yourself, saying PD losses will go to FG, then saying FG will not make gains.

In fact FG will gain from PD and FF, plus a little from inds. They should gain 10 seats easily and in fact will be disappointed if it is under 15. I can't think where they will lose seats.

Labour should make modest gains meanwhile, maybe up to high 20s.

The Greens will be disappointed with less than 10, and may get as many as 15.

This leaves FG/Lab/Green with a real chance.

Alternatively, assuming Labour get at least 25 (which I think we can assume ok), then FF would have to lose a net 20 seats to scupper the chances of a FF/Lab majority. They will have heavy losses but not quite that heavy.
If there is a future, it will be Green.

Don't think it's likely so bitter are the Greens towards FF but SF voted against ruling out Coalition with FF at their recent Ard Fheis so I wouldn't rule out FF-SF. Let's face it the big deal for FF is staying in power.
