We're using tagging for the moment instead of creating a whole new forum. We will try and tag threads as they are posted or people can tag them themselves, use the tag UKGE2010. Enjoy!

Even if there isn't a forum for the election, would it perhaps make sense to have a UK Politics section?

After all, we have a US Politics section, and as our nearest neighbour, largest trading partner and source of a lot of our cultural reference points, UK politics has arguably more relevance to people in Ireland.

By "forum" I mean what you're referring to as a separate section. There are (so I'm told) issues with creating additional sections in terms of the operation of the site, too many tends to slow things down and the fact is that unlike the lead up to the US election there hasn't been as much interest here in the uk election. So for the time being the thread tagging is a half way house that collects all the threads together but without requiring an infrastructural revamp. It will be kept under review though.

I'm closing this as DC had created a forum.
