Just wondering how many of all those first time local election candidates who ran in 2004 are still remaining active in politic's, with the party they ran for or have the switched parties or left politics altogether. I know that some who ran for the PD's in 2004 have since left and have joined other parties, or does this happen quite a bit.

On Dublin City Council only 2 have gone as yet, the rest remain the same until the GE.
I'm sure SF will pick up a few FF stragglers that won't get the FF nomination next time out (just like Mary Lou)

There was a whole raft of new PDs in Laois/Offaly brought in by Tom Parlon for the LE in 2004 - all sank without trace, bar one (Paul Mitchell).
