but I do admire his joie de vivre
joie de vivre? It's easy to have joie de vivre on his salary and expenses. Same thing as Gerry Ryan, peace be upon his name. And you dopes think this is something to admire! Joie de vivre, don't make me laugh. Joie de vivre is some skanger on the Luas having the craic with his mates 'cos they enough for a few cans in the park. Not some overpaid, opinionated bore like Norris and Ryan. Give me a break, joie de vivre, oo, la, la!

Why-what does that prove? I thought equality was order of the day? If equality is order of the day then it doesn't matter if the plumbing is internal or external. 'ROI' wtf? Who's been polluting your mind at school then?

Pretty bloody obvious. Could there have been an openly gay President in the days of the sort of state-church relationship that Dev had with McQuaid?

I certainly don't think an openly gay politician would get too far in NI. Too many closed minds.

You're wasting your time with divisive non-issues. Equality, race, childrens' referendum the whole gamut of shining distractions for the modern 'educated' classes to disipate their time with. Cruimh, nobody really cares what people do with their genitals/digestive tracts-it's all old hat. It doesn't mean jack sh1t. But while you and the other martyrs want to takw issue woth such a non-issue the country is being sold out from beneath your feet, but you're so outraged that an old queer isn't President you don't even notice. Nucking futs!

And just for the record, he was shafted last time round by his own party, but a man who would make a good president in my opinion is Michael D.Higgins. He's a sensitive soul, a parilimentarian and a poet. Where are the poets when we need them? Not some overbearing windbag queen like Norris-what a bore.

Ironically, and to his credit, Norris is one of the few voices who sounds as angry as yourself and who certainly was not part of the Establishment consensus on the bubble economy, his seat is not due to any political patronage, or favours done, and I would suggest it is yourself that sees him as a one issue candidate.

I would vote against him because he is of the Liberal left which really has nothing to offer by way of a way out of this mess, and I don't want a leftie in the Aras, or for that matter dominating our Govt. On the other issues I would be fully in agreement with you, the whole gamut of distractions, nobody for example took issue with Eamon Gilmore on his intention to have major constitutional reform, imagine the time wasted on that as the ship of State sinks. We need to get rid of the crony, corporatist, peronists, that got us into this mess, while at the same time keep out the crony, smoked salmon socialists with their raft of quangoes, nanny State and self indulgent rights culture for a population that soon won't be able to support itself.

You've lost the plot now. Mon Dieu.
