It's been easy to see this coming for a very long time. O'Donnell is a very ambitous guy with a huge ego; he's looking to get ahead as fast as he can.

If he were to run as an independent it would effectively be a 3FF candidate constituency but FF have never run more than 2 candidates in this constituency. This is going to cause huge anger within FF in Donegal and it will be make or break for O'Donnell. He'll either back down and be eternally humiliated or else he'll run as an independent and alienate a large proportion of loyal FF'ers who vote for him.

Apparently at a local party meeting where the controversy came from Madam Coughlan told Brian "to shut the f**k up and to sit d'f**k down" or words to that effect! I would have paid to see that!

No, he is a councillor for Glenties, which is in Donegal South West.

Sorry to be the one to tell you, but Fianna Fail are incorrect about many things.

As of this week Cllr. O'Domhnaill has decided not to run - his antics didn't pay off.

I think there's a part in DNE, though most is in DSW
