I would think that the best position on a ballot paper is the middle as people tend to look at the middle first rather than the top or bottom of the ballot paper

Dunno Marx.. some guy did a study on this a few years ago, and he concluded that it did have some effect on the way people were getting transfers, especially in bigger fields.

Did damn all to help me in the locals last time out mind

And I don't even make it to the top of the Tipp South paper next time out

(thank you very much Ms. Ambrose )

O Cuiv doing it was a bit of a joke mind you, and he shouldn't have been allowed to by the returning officer when handing in his nomination papers. You are supposed to have your name recorded as that "which you are commonly known as"

thats not correct. "eamon cuiv" (if that is his real name) dropped the "O" by deed poll in 2002
    how utterly pathetic is that?

another stunt was beverly flynn-cooper, who (in a first for posh double barrelled names) decided to switch the order to get placed further up the ballot paper

she has since divorced mr. cooper and found a new sugar daddy. unfortunately though his surname doesnt begin with the letters A-D so she cant get any further up the list next may
Well sure, he wouldn't have licked a stroke like that off the ground.

His ancestor was a dab-hand at fiddling around with trivial details such as surnames and Birth/Baptismal certificates.

Dropping Surname Prefixes on the Ballot Papers

Have been approached by Lab to stand for the Locals last time out.. Turned them down as I was not ready.. Approached again recently and considering the next locals.. I think I'll change my name to "A" by deed poll.. It might just work?
