    UK and HMG to Finance a Mars Mission ?

    Interesting when domestic finances are in such shyte that suddenly everyone wants to go to Mars!

    Of course our Trade and Enterprise hasn't even absorbed the Importance of CERN to Ireland, so Ireland's

    But it is interesting how money and political will can be found, I s'pos its all the trimming that goes on re
    laws and accepted rights= more moolah for vanity projects.

    i saw recently saw a nasa presentation which impressed on me the usefulness of comparative 'planetology' for help in studying climate change here

    The article just says that the funding they give to the ESA can now be used for manned mission. Previously, it had to be for unmanned.

    In fact, it probably doesn't really matter as the money from the UK was presumably just treated as part of the pool of funds for ESA and thus they could just pick a few unmanned projects and say that those were the ones funded with the money from the UK.
