    School Buildings

Has anyone seen the blog build our school, which is set up by a parent committee in leopardstown in Dublin. It is coming up with some interesting ideas on how to approach the school building deficit. We need more local communities coming up with worthwhile suggestions and ideas on how to get rid of prefabs and construct permanent schools at little cost to the tax -payer.

I would suggest that if we are waiting for the state to get the finger out we will be waiting quite some time.

One thing that has always surprised me is how we fail to make use of our apprenticeship schemes. Apprentices spend a great deal of time in College, why cant they be used to do work that benefits the state e.g. build school buildings, make furniture for schools, hospitals etc. There are many ways in which they could contribute.

People on FÁS schemes could also be used in this way.
