someone who has not done their H.Dip is an unqualified teacher. I have plenty of friends who are unqualified and some who are still doing their undergrads who get subbing work

A teacher who is not registered with the Teaching Council.

They may or may not have completed their BEd or BA/BSc+HDip.

    If you say so.

I'm not sure the world would stop spinning if a bunch of charlatan barbers were plying their trade with faked degrees in baberolgy.

If you do have a problem with the practice, speak to your union. They've agreed to tolerate unqualified teachers in extremis.

But do yourself a favour and don't bother embarrassing yourself by "reporting" Ellie or the school involved. The authorities will respond with a big yawn.

"I'm not sure the world would stop spinning if a bunch of charlatan barbers were plying their trade with faked degrees in baberolgy."

If someone whom you knew not to be a barber set up a stall offering haircuts, would you pay for his services?

"" don't bother embarrassing yourself by "reporting" Ellie or the school involved. The authorities will respond with a big yawn"

Why on earth should I be 'embarrassed'? Can't remember the last time I felt embarrassed about anything.

I do know that the authorities will respond to an official complaint.

    Not true.
Yeah right, they'll dispatch a SWAT team to the school without delay

Well, they'll say that just to get you off the phone.

Then they'll file the report under "C" for crank.

Then explain why you think it is acceptable to pretend to be a teacher.

Important to remember that you got €379 for PRETENDING to be a teacher.
You're making sublime good sense through this thread. Not that it'll do you any good. It would be easier to get lucid argument from a tapioca pudding than from our "wannabe teacher" Ellie.

I've now come to the conclusion that she's some kind of plant ( not the botany term Ellie).
She is hostile to teachers and is pretending to be a trainee , so as to bring the profession into disrepute.

You filleted her well anyway. Respect !

Ohhhh more abuse - I see you have a bad rep - wonder why? filleting me, less lucid than a tapioca pudding ?(was that something from the early 1930's), a plant? - my, you are like inspector Clouseau with your sharp detective work. You are coming across as a very abusive old man my friend.

Uriah, dontcha know its considered bad form to substantially edit your post after someone has replied quoting it? Sortta ruins the logical thread of debate.

Anyway, so say you do a Nancy Drew on it and bring your dossier on teacher-impersonation to the attention of the relevant authorities.

Uriah: Its terrible, there's an unqualified teacher stalking the land, striking fear into the hearts of properly registered and licensed educators!

Authorities: Checking the rule book now ... hmmm, unquestioning loyalty, unquantified misery, yep here we go, unqualified teachers ... seems that's totally above board. Next.

None that's the point. Your constant insults just show your ignorance sir. I would tell you to grow up but it's a bit late at this stage for you to change.
