i presume by the way that you oppose public funding for schools with a particular ethos? i generally disagree with that, in that i think it denies parents and communities choice in the education of their children.
Ah, if I were minister! Well, the political will to change the system would only come about in certain circumstances. The church would have to become more hardline, and at the same time the numbers of different religious viewpoints would have to diversify greatly in this country. Then, and only then, would people realise how flawed it was of a system to spread educational resources around according to religion.

Of course, what would happen is that (as we already see) parents would queue up to get into the local religious school as it is generally the biggest, longest standing, and best resourced.

To be honest, I don't hold out much actual hope of changing the system. We don't have a great track record of doing the most sensible thing when it comes to providing public services, do we?
