Those working in the underground economy are not paying taxes. Even the NCCRI - not exactly a bastion of racism - says there are 100,000 Chinese in this country. If that is true, then only 10% of the Chinese population here has been revealed by the Census. That means the rest are either unemployed or working illegally, in which case they are not paying income-taxes. This is not about targeting an ethnic-group - the point could equally be made about illegals from any country - but nonetheless it is necessary to make this point to rebut part of what you said.

The source of my information is a number of non German students (both from within the EU and elsewhere) studying long term in Germany whom I know.
It was in response to Clanrickard who suggested covering the costs with a student loan from the government.

This is what I was referring to, not fees.

but most of the 100,000 are paying taxes the thing they are doing wrong is working too much when they supposed to be at these courses.
What does the Irish President spend their time doing. Work in progress

Remind me. What do we pay taxes for?
Let me tell ya what I've learned about the Irish Tax System. Your taxes cover the Irish Public Sector, with special regard to the Revenue: these people are organised not like the other European Public Sectors, but in a company-like way, with PRs, lots of adverts and a Customer Service. The Irish Public Sector is specialized in collecting more taxes (direct and indirect) and to get as much money they can from the EU.

    1. So you pay the PRSI just to fund tthe government's adverts aimed to convince you to BUY a PRIVATE pension scheme (PRSA: failing investments well payd TWICE from your taxes, by adverts AND by the resultant tax credit (20 or 41, depending on your status). Winners: insurance companies and banks.
    2. Again, part of the funds in PRSI goes for the Health Service, to allow them to pay the adverts aimed to convince you to BUY a PRIVATE Healthcare Insurance. Again this is also funded twice, because they spend tax money to convince you AND then allow you to be granted a tax credit because you pay your private insurance. Winners: insurance companies and banks.
    3. Your taxex pays the salaries of the teachers hired from PRIVATE BoM of PRIVATE RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS, which ask you (in addition) to pay a lot of "voluntary contributions" for this and that. Those private structures get in addition a lot of grants to be spent within the private biz (friends and relatives!) to do perform "school activities". So you pay a lot for the Primary and Secondary getting a PRIVATE low content education and you need then a Loan to pay the University. Loan = Financial Institutions: Winners: insurance companies and banks.
    4. more...
    5. more...

I spare you the very long list.... I guess you know better than me as I gather you're Irish. Well done Irish people! You are owned by banks and insurances! privatisation.... privatisation.... privatisation.... privatisation.... privatisation.... privatisation....

Well if you agree with the privatisation system... why do you complain now? You voted those people.... FF and FG... they are all the same... owned by the banks.

I think if you're expecting sorry from people like us, you got it all wrong and the person concerned may well be putting his/her career on the line with us to be honest, so count me out of apology in your new world slavery God.
