    Irish universities success

Interesting Times Higher Ed Supplement data here
    http://www.independent.ie/national-news ... 14964.html

TCD 53 worldwide, UCD 179, DCU/UCC somewhere else but in top 500 worldwide.
And all that achieved in the face of gross underfunding by comparison with other third/fourth level systems.

Blucey would be Brian Lucey would it?

53rd place is excellent but for one of the worlds richest economies, we should be aiming way higher

Other reports, such as the one done by the shanghai institute, placed trinity about 200. Was just saying it was about time it got the recognition it deserved.

Lets be honest about it. Fees Fees Fees....

I see them creeping in for the higher income earners in the next few years.

Its a catch 22 situation. A higher rating will make wealthy students less 'elastic' in terms of their movements to foreign colleges and thus will make them more amenable to pay for Irish ones (not obviously the same amount)

    Means testing maybe?
