Dublin 15: Learning the Hard Way

Anyone watch Prime Time last night?

There seems to be a slow dawning out in Montrose that Immigration is begining to cause problems that were just not foreseen and the Government is struggling to catch up on.

Notice the woman who says 'we are a minority out here' ...

    I know the feeling!

Funny thing tho', Ireland has become the friedliest country on the Lonely Planet site/book, ever since all hospitality venues are completely manned (womanned) by non-irish. They can tell you that they don't have a clue where the street is [that you want], but they do it nicer than the Irish.

Personally, in my job, the Imigrants are far nicer to deal with than the locals, they listen (I teach adults), listening is the most important thing. You have all been in a class where the teacher explains & a person in the class asks a question which means explaining the same thing all over again, as a student, it is the most annoying thing, it wastes time & makes the class boring for those who are listening. I have a person in a class who arrives in at 8pm for a class that starts at 7pm & expects me to fill her in while the rest of the class sits & waits.

Immigrants never act like that, in my experience, they are there early, they do their practice & most of all, they take it seriously (whilst being light hearted). Ireland is a better place with a lot of the immigrants (not all!).

Personally in my job and previous jobs I've found immigrants to be overall to be no better or worse than Irish workers.

However that is drifting away from what the subject of the post is.

Have you by the way watched the PT clip or seen it last night?

Notice the report states that on average 1/4 of the population is made up of ethnic minorities.

add 10% on to that for a more accurate figures. Also clearly there are pockets building up of areas where the majority are no longer Irish.

BTW the report also mentioned that in some areas the ratio was now 50/50.

The rate of change out here is truly stunning - obviously within the next five years we will be the same out here as in the north Inner City- areas where the Irish have been turned into a minority in their own Country.

No one even asked us whether we want this or not!

    Is that right?

Thank god I have Catalpa in my corner fighting for Blanch!!

Yeah in some parts of D15 like Castleknock up by the park, I say the amount of foreign nationals is low, because the super wealthy are. But here in Ongar and around, it is easily half, if not more.

They are still building more and more houses, I dont blame the families and people coming here and over crowding the place, I blame Fingal county council for allowing this mess to be created! no services, small roads, not enough schools, one garda station for a huge part of D15, its so stupid!

who was the sap who let it all happen like this?
Food tastes better when you put it all together! It's the one best mayonnaise!

Political cowardice is what made it happen. Representatives who havent the wit to walk in a straight line.

    We should have a coup.
If I could mass-sterilise the planet, I would. Seriously.
