Hardly, children think they are immortal and many don't even have a concept of death to begin with - but they do have nameless fears.

A prayer such as this which posits the existence of a great Guardian figure could be beneficial in comforting them against those nameless fears.

That's all i think God is, a concept to help improve our morale especially in the most difficult of times. The philosophical equivalent of serotonin.

Scratch a theist, find a foe.
I see that you deem anyone who happens to believe in a God an enemy. Suffer paranoia much?

Aren't you god-boys supposed to turn the other cheek or something?
Which god-boys, enemy-of-too-many? Sikh's don't have a "turn-the-other-cheek" clause in their religion, neither do Shinto, Judeaism, Islam, etc, only Christianity. Which points that you aren't actually anti-religion as such, just anti-Christian. Or just anti-Catholicism.

A very tragic man who lives his life in a wheelchair and who is the victim of physical abuse says there is no god and all the atheists come out in force.

Nah, tis grand. shur Schroedinger's cat was a black one and when he closed the box, didn't the wee beasty use the other exit.

By the way, which is the reflection? Is it a small cat seeing itself as a lion or a lion seeing itself as a kitten?

Think about it. It has to be the former.

I think we have made more progress in understanding politics in this thread over the last 24 hours, than in the entire recorded history of mankind.

    Its all quantum mechanical.

And the corners we are turning are in one of the 7 curled up dimensions of the brane, thats why they are hard to see.
QM is much less messy than politics, at least you can use san-check dice with QM, all you get with politics is the dice landing on a corner. Every time. Policies (particle/waves) always spin in an infinite number of axes.

Those corners we've been turning are the corners in a tesseract.

Like theories of God, there's no evidence to support that.
