iPad Owners are a "Selfish Elite"

An interesting article which I wouldn't have taken much heed of, until I heard John Gormley boasting about his iPad this morning on Newstalk.

Are iPad owners horrible? Shock horror, it depends on your point of view | News | guardian.co.uk

"US research company/Facebook application MyType, in an article published this month, suggested it had surveyed 20,000 people to try to determine what kinds of people own an iPad.

The answer, it turns out, is pretty straightforward. Horrible people.

"iPad Owners are an elite bunch," MyType intoned in a blog. "They're wealthy, highly educated and sophisticated. They value power and achievement much more than others."
"WAKE UP! THE RICH ARE RAPING YOU!"

Thought Gormley would be using an abacus and a quill --useless powercrazed man.

I imagine that's the image they like to portray anyway, and as such they are cannon-fodder for "gorgeous gadget" companies like Apple.

I prefer the company of salt of the earth lazy, uneducated people especially if matched with a huge chip on both shoulders and a sense of entitlement that would make Marx himself blush. Maybe we need a "smugness" tax on Ipads?

Orbit loves nothing more than running Linux on his 486 processor.

Wealthy, successful, value achievement = horrible?

Sounds suspiciously like the whining of jealous person who cant afford an Ipad and has an underpaid job.

I have an iPad and I'm perfectly comfortable in the company of ordinary people so I don't know where this nonsense is coming from.
