Your figures are pure SPiN and fantasy with no links or support whatsoever. The spinning of a Green media monitor and nothing more.

The links I have posted are to my blog ... which contains links to the Irish Independent, The Irish Times, the UCD website, the VTOS Co-Ordinators website, the Department of Finance website, and many other reputable websites. Are you now questioning the validity of the links in my blog SPiN?

    I hope so.

Beating Labour into fourth place in an election would be really cool, as would three consecutive terms in office, and four out of five terms in office.

Sorry SPN...then can you adjust your figures for increases in staff (both teacher and SNA's...therefore adding to wages....) and increases in pupil numbers and then give us the correct adjustment of any percieved increases in the education budget??

Can you also include the capital expenditure in the years quoted??

Again apologies SPN...cos I've been years looking at how the HSE/DOHC manipulate figures and stats...the greens are obviously learning from the masters!!

Spidey, you forgot to ask SPiN to include people moving up in salary increments (which would further warp SPiN's % figures, which are meaningless anyway).

But it doesn't matter ... SPiN wont be able to do that because his/her figures are all made up.

My point was to highlight the drop in Government income from €47 Billion to €32 Billion.

That was a point that Froggie conveniently forgot to factor in.

Not sure what you mean about manipulation though. My figures are as simple and straightforward as it gets: Income vs Expenditure.

    Followed by dissolution.

The only chance the Greens have is if they pull the plug from the government on a point of principle.

McDowell had that chance and chickened.

I believe there are principled people in the Greens but they are being led by morons.

Have you even read post 1 and post 2 in this thread? I think you may have misunderstood what we are talking about...

The notion that someone gets an automatic pay increase at a time when their employer's income has decreased by more than a third goes way outside my experience of life in the real world, so NO, I haven't factored in something as ludicrous as "salary increments".

Then your % figures are meaningless.

I'll assume you missed the post where I stated where I got the figures from - it was the budget section of the Department of Finance website.

My understanding is that you are claiming that the Budget for Education has decreased since the Greens went into Government. I have shown that it has in fact increased, both in number terms, but more significantly, in percentage terms.
