As far as i know Waterford Crystal Workers are awaiting this funding also.
Who decides how this money is spent? Can an ex-worker decide how or where this money is spent?(it obviously has to be on education or training).

The Tainaiste had promised that this money would be spent setting up courses in DIT and DCU specifically for the purpose of retraining the workers of SR Technics. Why does this woman drag her heels in such a despicable way. Does she have a personal vendetta against these people??

Sure does sound like the EU are witholding funds due to the Fas debacle, TBH can anyone blame the EU, price has to be paid for the FF junket machine.

I'm not disputing that, but the government has a right to review and reapply for funding but these things take time so why in Christ's name would she wai until october to even apply??

The EU should withhold all grants etc to FAS, Dept of Entertainment ( Enterprise) etc.......and just lodge the money directly to workers accounts as a Xmas bonus

The recent dispute with Michael O'Leary over the hangar, and now this, shows a government which does not care in the least about the people it should be governing. It really is disgusting that the lazy, rude and arrogant Mary Coughlan is content not only to have those workers lose their jobs, but to destroy any chance of them getting new ones, whether through education or employment. She doesn't give a damn. There is something peculiarly appalling about her time in cabinet.
