Seriously, do you have a clue what's going on? Did you happen to miss a certian opinion poll last thursday?

I can just see it now, the masses flocking back to Fianna Fáil (which is the only thing that would be bad for FG) because of these interventions.

Seriously, most of this debate goes over the majority of people's heads. Garret and dukes, the great statesmen they were, were VOTE LOSERS. Electoral disasters. Enda Kenny saved the party from their lack of realpolitik because knows how to win votes.

    Come down from your tower.

A few more disasters like NAMA and we could have a majority FG government.
There are times when you are simply required to be impolite. There are times when condescension is called for!

Is it not perfectly obvious. An incomplete building is worth nothing in potential earnings, Anglo wants as much of its money back as possible, so it is in its interest to see that the building is finished.

But the other banks were in there also offering support to Carroll, whom the High Court, and later the Supreme Court, said was living in fantasy land. If those banks buy out ACC's claims against him would you consider that a bailout?

    +1

It never ceases to amaze me how out of touch with public opinion and basic politics some people here are.

Who elected his honohan bloke? He plan is seriously flawed, this idea of staged payments is rubbish as it will do little to improve liquidity, it slows the whole process down.

I'd like to see a majority FG government post election (better still a FG/FF coalition)

But in the latest opinion poll FF's loss was again Labour's gain

Now Labour are being given a very soft ride, but in the whole "oppose Nama" charade it was independent economists & bloggers who got the publicity ( not FG). The FG plan was underdeveloped (possibly good, but it definitely needed more flesh).

FG had a chance to put together a plan and lead the opposition to Nama - that didn't work out. And Labour are looking like they may even get Finance next time around (shudders)
