Just reported on RTE News. No comment by Department of Finance press though (yet).

Good news. First time it has gone to someone outside the civil service, isn't it?

Don't think it has any implications for NAMA - maybe adds to the likelihood of his NAMA 2.0 being the basis for it, but it was heading that way anyway.

    Agreed on point 1.

But, surely it has implications in that it shows that Lenny is tending towards NaMa 2?

This is a definite implication for NaMa as originally announced, and defended by the MoF up to last Tues Dail Committee?

I don't think there is much doubt that the risk sharing component is being examined - think this has been implied in Lenihan and Alan Ahearne's comments in the past week or two. There is also the fact that Labour and FG seem to be angling to allow this to be portrayed as a 'climbdown' by the government giving them option of supporting it, or at least softening their opposition.
