    It is a nice quaint idea. But it will not solve our massive economic problems

    That is a major part if the problem. By introducing a local currency, we could encourage more to be produced locally and make it viable.

    But it will not solve our massive economic problems

    Just as a matter of interest, I live in Brixton and currently use " The Brixton Pound" as opposed to STG...

    A straight exchange.

    Very few here believes it is a good idea.

    Had nobody in Brixton the foresite to tie it to silver instead and each pound would be worth 4 pound sterling now
