    IPU cave in

RTÉ News: Pharmacists urged to resume services

Pharmacists are being urged by the Executive of the Irish Pharmacy Union to resume normal services immediately in the interests of patient safety.

About bloody time: its the loss of other business here that is the driving force behind this decision, not patient care.

Our estate of 200 houses boycotted the local pharmacy for any purchases

I wonder how long you'll have a local pharmacy to boycott.

victory to Harney so. No patient deaths, 11 day standoff and they capitulate. Hopefully she will leave politics now with this fight against vested interests behind her.
If the banks are out for a bail,
and Lenny's efforts end up as a fail,
    when the Somer does come,
    to the Country they'll run,
And leave a Fine mess for the Gael.

Endinf the one Party (FF) state:

A Promise of a meeting with the minister to review various things by next 'June' .

The ability of FF to build industries then destroy them is incredible.

Massive win for Harney and an overdue one. Doubt she'll get the credit she deserves though from the general public.

Next step - the move towards generic medicines wherever possible.

Victory for Harney in a small way I suppose. But I was impressed with the HSE senior staff who took up the cudgels on this issue. I know I'm in a small minority on this, but I think it's a feather in the cap for the HSE.

Some 'Success'. Up there with her only other claim at 'Success', banning smokey coal.

Meanwhile we vastly ovepay big pharma for the drugs, vastly overpay the consultants, pay taxation and Health levies yet have to use the likes of VHI Swiftcare to avoid HSE A&E depts.

Harney has certainly proved the old maxim that all political careers end in failure.

Indeed, but hers remains unblemished by success.
