Don't forget that NAMA version 1.0 was Affordable Housing

Lest anyone forget, the first attempt to bail out builders/developers was by the Affordable Housing scheme. It failed as there was no interest. It appears that like it or not, you will bail out the builders either by indirectly buying some overpriced tat in Athlone, or else the government will simply take your money off you and give it to them in NAMA.

NAMA version 1: Affordable Housing offered (ah, the illusion of choice!)
NAMA version 2: Make people pay for the Affordable Housing anyway

    That is all!

Version 1.1 was the Home Choice Loan scheme (October budget). Even Tom Parlon seemed pleased with it. But I think there has been less than 50 applicants thus far.

Another failure. I wonder have they spotted the pattern yet?

Affordable housing schemes have always been a disgrace. It appealed to the left wing media and begrudgers. It was immoral for the following reason.

If the income limit was 40k (it was about that), the person earning 42k is WORSE off than the person earning 38K. That is DISGUSTING.
