Anyone who pays tax in this country contributes to Private pensions funds through tax relief.

If you cant get your head around that theres nothing more I can say on the matter.

Sympathy levels for the Public Sector is near empty.
I couldn't give two tosses for your sympathy or lack thereof... I'm merely marking you card on the fact that due to my low wage I'm not going to give way to the slash and burn vultures who want to to hit my T&C's even more after the descriminatory pension levy...

Read back on my posts on this. I don't advocate pay cuts from frontline, do advocate pay cuts for the upper echelon.
Exasperation is on the whinging about the pension levy, said pension being funded by private sector, as well as the "entitlement" attitude from the likes of silvio. It is also on the disparity between the pay scales of private and public sector for the same type of job.

I have done work outside the State (over 60%) but paid taxes here because I lived here the majority of the time. Not a complaint, I have no real problems with paying tax, just major problems with the wastage. I could have legally not paid taxes on much my foreign earnings but I have a stake in Ireland.
In fact, I think the US style Federal tax on foreign earnings would be a good one to bring in here.

I would like you to make a comparison between my income and work and yours. With exactly the same information you have given. none.

Why are you posting here during work-time?

maybe people at your level in the private Sector are too busy working to post their salary details here. Just an idea.

And, do you factor in your pension when making comparisons?

I take your point, however it is never clear here that it is only the 'higher ups' that are being attacked and your comment that pensions are paid from by the tax payer suggests that this is some sort of charity paymen.t PS workers work for their pay and the pension is part of that remuneration package. The point is that we either value PS work or we don't in which case lets hear an alternative.

That graph doesn't cut it... I'm asking for real comparisons between my job and the Private Sector and show me how I'm so grossly over paid coming out with €393 pw...
