RTÉ News: Tánaiste warns professions over high fees

This story is a bit strange. Sounds like the govt is going to send the heavies around the professions for a cut of the their fees. Why not use sensible regulation in order to ensure that there is proper competition in these market places? Get after the cartels Mary, do your job.

This government is all talk as there will be no action.

The government should tackle the public monopolies it is responsible for. Almost all private services are reducing prices whereas the public servcies are increasing prices.

I agree the states job is to ensure competition exists, not go threatening businesses to reduce prices. As long as competition exists the consumer is king.

More incompetence from Government... Professions must step into line yet Government are waiting months before they act

Pull the finger out. Take a stand.. Cut Pay and Cut Pensions. Start at the top and work down.

And they're getting Forfas to do an evaluation of the McCarthy Report before they decide anything... What do their shagging departments do ffs??

What a Joke. We need a National Government.
