Deep cut in public pay bill now inevitable

The data support the case,

Average public and private sector pay in Ireland | Ronan Lyons

and if it doesn't happen, it will be forced when the State goes bankrupt anyway

A good bout of land value taxation would clear all that up without too much pain and we wouldnt need any cuts at all.

Given the prevarication by the elected and permanant goverment. It looks like they have thrown their hands in the air and will wait for the IMF or ECB to do the job of restructuring the state finances.
Bunking off for the summer in the worst crisis this country has seen, indicates this must be the case.
Its only a chat, we ain't the world council.
In 2000 the Women's Institute in Britain gave Tony Blair the slow hand clap to demonstrate their contempt.
It was dignified, restrained and effective.Doesn't Bertie deserve the same scorn. No shouting, no abuse, no agression just a relentless slow clap whenever he speaks in public would be enough to end that man's presidential fantasy.

A UFO will come down and take Clowen away, before either him or Kenny would tax land value.

They are off doing whatever, and they claim they don't have enough time to debate important matters like abolishing trial by jury!

Are you suggesting that people pay a tax on the value of their land without it being sold
