From the rsf website:

The background to these events is not as well known as the events themselves. Six years ago certain persons came into the Republican Movement from the Irish Workers' Party and the Connolly Association in England. Early in 1965 a "Conference to discuss political tactics, policy and internal organisation and make recommendations" was established.
Most of the ten points which emerged were turned down at an Extraordinary Ard-Fheis in June 1965, notably one which sought to have Sinn Féin recognise Westminster, Stormont and Leinster House. Another -- which was also turned down but was later accepted by a further Ard-Fheis -- looked for "co-operation with other radical groups" in pursuit of limited objectives. These groups included the Communist Party of Northern Ireland on one side of the border, the Irish Workers' party and Connolly Youth Movement on the other, and the Connolly Association in England.

Well you're the one telling me the Communist part has lots its way and you know better what Communism is supposed to be. From your previous posts I'm also aware you believe Communism has failed in the past because it wasn't properly implemented. I therefore think it's reasonable to conclude you're the one with the true vision of what Communism should be and how it should be properly and successfully implemented.

In any event I applaud your initiative to tell people exactly what you have in store for them.

I know people laugh at the aspect of communism, because lets face it, it will never work.

It certainly wont work in Ireland with a staunch older, religious generation, but as they die off do you think support will grow from a handful to even to handfuls of communist supporters?
If we were all born equal we would all be white, middle-class, middle-aged men!

Cael, I may have misunderstood you, but I recall you saying that you believe in God.
Imo, belief in religion and Marxism and completely opposing ideologies.

I dont see it mentioned there that the split was because of any Communist infiltration. In fact, it specifically mentions moves to recognise bourgeois assemblies. The problem was not their Communism - if they even were Communists, considering they were in favour of bourgeois assemblies I doubt it - but their support for these bourgeois assemblies.

Cael, for the love of God or Lenin,

stop clogging up the ECONOMY thread with your ridiculous threads about Communism.

Ask the mods to set up a Communism forum maybe?

My idea of God would be a long way from the Catholic Church, it would be very much more abstract. Besides, In Marx's time the church had a stranglehood on the minds of the working class, so naturally marx wanted to break it. But that is no longer the case. The bourgeois media would have a lot more power than the church.
