The underlying impression you get from this can only be that the "drift" continues to be the dominant tendency of the Cowen govt. It is an outrage that in the midst of an economic meltdown, the Oireactas is set to rise next week the Summer and not return until later September. Cowen can't expect the rest of us to take the economic crisis seriously if he doesn't. This is not the behaviour of a govt that appreciates the gravity of the peril into which his govt and his tenure as Finance Minister has plunged the country/

You really are a kid with no experience of real life what so ever.
I pray that you will grow up and learn one day.

The public sector bashing on this thread is wrecking my head. I have to say I have issues with the public sector too, and it's not the salaries of the frontline staff in hospitals, schools and council, for example:

Brendan Drumm, head of the HSE, salary package €360,000 - bonus (an import from the private sector) €80,000.

Michael Murphy, President of UCC, salary package €275,000 - calling for all university workers to work a week for free in order to save money.

WTF! Can we please stop lumping all PS workers in with this pair of overpaid wasters, and the numerous others on excess of €100k a year.

Money is wasted on things like PPPs, the ridiculous number of pilot schemes that are never rolled out, computer systems that don't work and have to be scrapped, and so on and so on.

Workers unite - we're all being screwed together!
