I do not believe in the redistribution of wealth and consider it theft.

I make what I earn, some earn more than me and some earn less.

tax should pay for the states bills, education , gardai etc, even roads should be paid for via tax on petrol .

See, it doesn't really matter what you believe in because the redistribution of wealth will lead to a happier healthier society. You may believe something else, but you are believing rubbish.

Your "life experience" obviously hasn't taught you as much as you think it has.

Yeah lucky you. You happen to live in Blackrock by any chance?!

I don't care where you live, there is evidence that even if you are at the top of society, you will do better in an egalitarian society.

How many times do I have to repeat the same line before it sinks in?

Oh yeah, I forgot, you Austrian economists don't believe in evidence, do you?!

you say so sarahj so we must all follow your way of thinking.I happen to live in the arsehole of mayo if you must know, but when I lived in Dublin I lived in Castleknock ,to afford the shoebox I scrimped and saved bought it when I was 21(big clap on the back) and didn't asked any one for a sub.I come from a background of graft and honesty ,if you work hard you get rewarded if not buy a lifejacket and hope there's a boat in sight before you sink.
As for the Austrians ,I would have them any day, than to listen to altruistic lying politicos and rotten begrudging media.

A champion of the people emerges with the age-old and appealing promise of "something for nothing" - to be financed through every-increasing taxes. Supply and demand are thrown out of gear - the overhead goes up; the effective use of human energy goes down; the standard of living is lowered because money cannot buy wealth that is not produced.

I guess you're entitled to an opinion, even if its contradicted by evidence.
