Civil Servants T&C's under attack again...

In a Circular(quoted below) issued to CPSU members recently. Dept of Finance wants to eradicate our two privilege Days that we get each year, one at Christmas and one at Easter... As someone on a meagre wage with only the Stautory miniumum Annual Leave entitlement this would hit the likes of myself most. Thankfully the CPSU won't let them away with this but it shows how we're being put into the crosshairs at increasing regularity...

"In addition they said they proposed to abolish Bank time and Privilege days for all staff.

I made it quiet clear that issues like Privilege days and Bank time were non starters and that a change agenda would be resisted while the pensions levy and the non payment of T.16 remained in place."

Indeed -the furore over pensioners medical cards will be a teaparty compared to the storm that this will kick up.

I'm sure the hundreds of thousands who have lost their jobs in the private sector and are struggling to pay the mortgage and provide for their family will forget their own problems for a while as they grapple with the enormity of the injustice being visited upon the poor CPSU members.

    Oh the humanity!!!

Who called for the 'Public' to rally anywhere...?

Certainly not I. This is a direct Dept of Finance/Union issue...

Yeah and why should CS be any different. It a bit rich expecting to hold onto such a thing in today;s economic climate or in any economic climate. People in Priv Sector would be shown the door for even attempting to gain such privilege's
