    i would actually say bottomed out rather than bottoming out at this stage. Poor old Digout - he will have nothing to moan about soon !

    Would a supertax on every FF member, every member of a public sector union and everyone who engaged in property speculation be enough to plug that gap?...say 70% on every euro they have?

    tax is down (y-o-y) from 17b to 13b, a fall of 24%

    does this mean that the deficit will begin reducing from end June onwards? why?

    does this mean that unemployment numbers will start falling now? why?

    No and no. It means that the deficit will continue getting bigger, but at a slower rate.
