Stop the Anglo Bailout - Operation digout.

The FFers who want to burden the next 3 generations with debt in order to pay for their developer buddies must be stopped.

They need to get permission from the EU to do this bailout. So, lets stop it at EU level.

Send an email to this address, SG-PLAINTES@ec.europa.eu , and highlight your feelings about the bailout. Please post the emails you send on this thread. Members of other boards such as the pin, boards.ie, machine nations, please post a message there.

If enough of us complain, we will stop FF.

    Dear Sir/Madam,
The Irish government is planning to approach the Commission looking for approval to inject €4 billion Euros into Anglo Irish Bank. There is reason to believe this bank has been run in a criminal manner. This bank loaned money to friends of the Irish government to buy its own shares. These loans were then written off. Injecting money into this bank is a waste of taxpayers money as the bank is going to eventually wound up.

The Irish police are currently investigating how this bank was managed over the last 10 years. No money should be put into this bank.

Please reject the Irish governments application for permission to inject money into this bank.

    Rgds

If they declined the irish governments request I would reconsider voting for Libertas, Higgins et al on June 5th.

    Dear Sir/Madam

The irish govenrment are about to approach the commission to seek approval to inject €4billion to keep Anglo Irish Bank afloat. I am sending this email in an act of direct democracy as I feel my elected representatives are out of step with not only my own views on this issue, but the vast majority of the Irish people. I respectfully request that the commission decline the Irish governments request.

    Yours Sincerely,

    Michael Courtney

Who does that email address reach Digout? Should others be cc'ed on it, just in case? Should non-FF MEP's be also copied do you think?

To European Commission (cc the European Central Bank)

    Sirs,

I am writing with regard to the proposal by the Irish Government to inject approximately €4 billion euros into the Anglo Irish Bank, due to losses on a small number of property-related loans.

I strongly object to this measure, which will be highly costly to me as tax payer, and to the people of Ireland as a whole.

I urge the Commission to have regard to the fact that Anglo Irish Bank is currently under police investigation for matters directly relating to the proposed injection of funds. The impartiality of the Irish Government in dealing with this matter is also under question.

The Government furthermore does not have the support of the electorate in its handling of the Banks Crisis. In the most recent opinion poll 82% of those polled said that they were disatisfied with the Government.

Bye-elections, local and European elections are to be held in Ireland within a week and will give the Irish people to opportunity to indicate their support or otherwise for the Government. Approval of the proposed bail out of the Anglo Irish Bank prior to the elections would in my opinion preempt the electoral process.

Labour overtakes FF for first time, Irish Times/TNS mrbi poll finds - The Irish Times - Thu, Feb 12, 2009

I would appreciate your acknowledgement of this letter and your assurance that it will be passed promptly to the appropriate EU personnel.

    Yours faithfully
