It was worth a try I suppose. Did anyone ever get a reply or even an acknowledgement of their objection? What did Kathy Sinnott do in the end?

Brussels approves bailout of Anglo Irish Bank

The European Union's top competition watchdog has approved the Government's emergency recapitalisation plan for Anglo Irish Bank, which was nationalised earlier this year.

'The measure constitutes an adequate means to remedy a serious disturbance in the Irish economy while avoiding undue distortions of competition,' the European Commission said.

'The aid [€4 billion] is approved as a temporary rescue measure and Ireland has committed to submit a restructuring plan for the bank by the end of November 2009,' it added.

AIB debt buyback another kick to taxpayers

So, all told, this looks like a really good deal for the subdebt bondholders. A few months ago they were facing total wipeout. Today, they’ve taken losses of between 33 and 50 percent but they’ve obtained a bond with a far higher coupon payment and, perhaps more importantly, they’ve now most likely got themselves insured by the Irish taxpayer.

Guys, you know what happened to these emails they were deleted.

They probably get hundreds of these emails a week, its like those petitions people give in at Westminister and they are put by the speakers chair and after a while they are shredded.

If your going to start campaign, this is probably the least effective way of doing it.
