AIB: 2% of Mortgages In Arrears

    According to RTE News.

Is this figure not dangerously high? That must amount to 10,000s of mortgages and families with serious financial difficulties.

Nope because that means 98% are up to date.

There are always mortgages in arrears even in boom times and happen for variety of reasons incl Divorce / Redundancy / Death plus numerous others.

Doesn't mean the bank will never get paid, some people sell on the property, others pay over longer period and some get reposessed and sold on.

It means that 2% of the people on the so-called property ladder have been pushed off, permanently (they won't get another one, as they all have to retire sometime).

This seriously hurts your chances of ever being able to dispose of your house at a profit, after allowing for inflation.
When you see the words "Mises" or "Hayek" in someone's post, just ask yourself: do I really want to ban paper money and go back to gold?

You have to pity the kind of people who buy into conspiracy theories. I find the following to be the saddest words on the internet: "Re: connection between Bilderberg puppet lady gaga and viral outbreak in ukraine "
