Northern Rock to be Sold Off ?

There are rumours today that Northern Rock bank will be sold by the end of the year.
Is it time to invest there or would those who already have shares in NR take their money and run ?

Nobody has shares in Northern Rock they were delisted when the UK government nationalised them.
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

I have a mortgage with them. Should they be worried, or me?

They will be sold at a loss of 1.3 Billion pounds.

Mortgage terms and conditions will not change provided you continue to pay your mortgage.

When come off a fixed or tracker rate you will go onto the SVR rate and unless you do another deal with them you should stay on that.

IF have enough equity in house and can get a mortgage elsewhere then also possible to offer them a full and final settlement to move elsewhere.

70% of the mortgage value is a good one to start.

Well even if had a 100% plus LTV loan and had the cash to get it to 70% then offering them a low settlement may get them interested as high LTVs are a real percieved risk and they want to reduce risk.

    OK. So far so good.
I got £K (single figures) with them since just before they threw that wobbly last year. Would I be foolish to risk leaving it there much longer ?
I thought we had weathered the storm but now this.
If I'm gonna lose again then I'm afraid I'm off.
