How can yourselves be poor on 75K pa? I wouldn't consider myself poor on less than half that.

Programmes (over 50) Number of beneficiaries (over 1m exclusing child welfare). Rates (various, eg unemployment is €204). Payroll costs (I can't find this).
These all need to be cut.
    Not for ideology.
    But national survival.

How Ruiari Quinn can say that we will lose our economic soverenity on one hand and then Labour oppose reducing a 3% s/w rise to 1% (ignoring delflation) is beyond me.
If the banks are out for a bail,
and Lenny's efforts end up as a fail,
    when the Somer does come,
    to the Country they'll run,
And leave a Fine mess for the Gael.

Endinf the one Party (FF) state:

I have absolutely no problem being means tested so long as it takes into account ressonable living expenses. Nor am I claiming poverty or penury to be honest. Yes, we are reasonably comfortable and if we made a few other lifestyle changes, I am sure we could save a few more bob.

But I have a difficulty in being lectured by the likes of yourself, who lives on disability, about my rights to access certain benefits, when I am also paying a very substantial 5 figure sum in tax every year.

The man has some nerve to be lining up social welfare cuts when the required massive cuts in TD and public sector pay should be at forefront before we even think about hitting the most vulnerable in our society in this devastating time for many.

Luckily for Brian the IMF will be doing the dirtywork for him in a matter of months, and the deceitful lying scumbag knows it

Not really, because they will change the rules again then. Keep up...

It is crazy that those who pay the most for services have the least access to them. It is bad for the services and the tax payers. It puts huge downward pressure on services when those that are paying for them get no benefit from them. All services should be equally available, the division should be in how much you pay for them in my opinion.
