The fact is if people are legally able to work in Ireland, or Londis, then there should be no problem with them queuing for hours to have an interview.

WOuld you have a problem with legal Irish immigrants, in countries like the US or Australia, being discriminated against?

Everyone is in a tough situation and everyone is just trying to get by.
This crackpot wants the Irish economy to supply jobs not just for Irish workers, but for workers from Poland, Latvia, Slovakia, Pakistan, China, Romania etc. etc.

And then he tries to make a stupid parallel between Ireland and the USA.

Listen. Instead of your inane "WOuld you have a problem with legal Irish immigrants, in countries like the US or Australia, being discriminated against?" you should have asked would we have a problem with Irish people being discriminated for jobs in Pakistan, Poland etc. They're the parallel countries, in this case, not the US, you twit.

And the answer is, I couldn't give a damn if Irish people were discriminated against for jobs in pakistan or Poland, I'd be perfectly happy if the Paks or Poles gave jobs to their own people first. That's what an intelligent self-respecting nation does, it tries to take care of its own people.

Wasters like you wouldn't understand that.

We are in trouble.. but it's global?

Resorting to discrimination based on nationality or race is however not the answer.

We need to work through this together.
Are you suggesting work sharing. An Irish worker on Monday, A foreign national on Tuesday, an Irish worker on Wednesday.. and they could split Saturday.

    Might work

Well why are all this people being let in if there are not enough jobs for Irish People?

TBH I'm truly amazed that you can try and justify something like this.

Clearly the welfare and future of Irish People is way down your set of priorities..

If these people have no jobs (when there are not enough jobs for our own People)

    - then what the hell are they doing here?

Cowen et al, take a bow.
What makes these jobs 'crappy' ? We all use shops and the services of shop-assistants. There is nothing 'crappy' about doing an honest day's work providing a service used by almost every citizen every day. What an ignorant attitude.

This queue demonstrates the abysmal muppertry in this country.

We should not have 400,000 unemployed and queues like this filled with what I can only presume are recent arrivals in the country. If non Irish lose their job, they should lose their permits too, I know its tough, but we are in a tough situation.

We borrow money to fund the welfare of hundreds of thousands of Irish while non Irish take the few jobs available. It's muppetry of the highest order.
I fully agree with this...the worrying part of it is that clearly we MUST make drastic cuts of Government overheads, and we MUST get efficiencies running urgently..I am really troubled by the lack of leadership and planning that we all demand...this is gone past the tipping point...we are loosing jobs at rates never experienced in this country..and its gonna be 10 years plus before we see any change to this...to its gotta be culled at Government levels...top down....PERIOD

This problem was made by FF. They encouraged loads of EU and non EU workers to come here when they created their property bubble. This bubble was then used by FF's friends to steal money from workers in one of the biggest frauds the world has ever seen. The bubble bursts and the people who came here are left to pick up the pieces.

Obviously they live here. Or should we just ******************** them all out now that we've used them and finished with them.
