They are far cheaper in Aldi and Lidl those kind of things even the Vodka if you compare as I said I live close to border and hardly go there as I have been conned on a lot of items
Noodles for instance in Aldi 33c and in Sainsburys 1.39 sterling...

I was not actually referring to the Northern Shops, but I do agree the deals are without doubt the way to go when bulk buying. Clearly it only works for those who are within a couple of hours to northern parts.

I was actually referring to "ones" local shops, the Centra's/Gala's etc. Yes I agree they cant compete with the large supermarket chain stores especially as I am sure they are tied into contracts with the wholesalers like Musgraves and the likes, who basically tell them what the selling price is, clearly its the large distributors who are running these shops. Its the same prices all over, and the prices have not dropped, especially on the basic items like milk and bread...

We are all expected to support our local small shops, sadly this market remains "controlled" and that includes the doctors/dentists/accountants/vets/pharmacy outlets...ya still have to pay the same money we paid 2 years ago in the height of the runaway celtic tiger...now deceased thanks be to god...
